80x80mm Square Ribbed Tube Insert, 1.5-2.5mm

These 80x80mm square ribbed tube inserts are designed to provide a clean, secure finish for square tube and box section. Thanks to the flexible lateral ribs running around the shank of the insert, they should be suitable for tube wall thickness of between 1.5 to 2.5mm metric (6-10 gauge imperial), unless otherwise stated. 

Manufactured from durable LDPE plastic, they are commonly used as protective end caps, tube feet, and finishing plugs across furniture, fabrication, and light industrial applications. They're designed to retain themselves inside tube, with the head sitting over the outer ends of the tube or box section, sitting flush with the outside edges of the tube, providing a neat finished appearance.

Q: Hi, can you tell me the inside dimension of these inserts please, i want to put a steel plate inside the insert to mount a tube through the insert and would like to know how much space is inside. Thank you.

A: Hello, I assume just to clarify from your question, that you're not talking about the internal size of the tube which in the case of an 80x80mm insert with a 1.5 to 2.5mm wall, would need to be between 77mm and 75mm. But the information you're actually after is the gap between the 2 plastic wall sections of the insert itself. I've just taken a look at the underside of this insert and there is a 'cross-hair' type reinforcement, or webbing which would need to be cut away. That would then leave an internal measurement of approx. 67.8mm which you could in theory slide another piece of box section inside. I hope I've understood your question correctly, but bear in mind there are other options pulished on the site to suit 80x80mm, and you might find these dimensions differ, or there's not any cross webbing reinforcement to contend with!
